Abstract: An ideal photoalignment technology for advanced IPS-LCDs has been developed including our original material and process design, which increases azimuthal anchoring strength, reduces photoirradiation energy. A synergistic effect by the combination of the photoalignment and LC with a negative dielectric constant has been also clarified. We have since realized the practical use of this technology and improved the panel specification.
